  • Artefacts and evidence from life in the past (smuggling)

Interpretations of the past (stories, yarns)

 

As Mathematicians we’ll be:

Starting to revise what we know about the world of mathematics from the previous three years

As artists we’ll be:

  •  Looking at how famous artists have portrayed the sea and sky
  • We’ll be creating some seascapes of our own using paint, pencil, biro, felt sticks and fabric
  • We’ll be finding out about a great artist – Monet, and why his paintings are still admired today

 

As  Geographers we’ll be studying:

 

  • a locality in the UK (Sea side)
  • coastal features
  • human and physical features

 

The Literacy skills we will use to demonstrate our understanding are:

-          stories, letters, a scene from a play

argument, persuasion, journalist, explanation, instruction, recount and report

As people concerned with our environment we’ll be:

  • Looking at the effects of erosion and how people have dealt with it
  • Talking about how we can make our environment attractive (litter, benches, cleaning up etc)

 

We will explore the spiritual and moral aspects of:

  • Smuggling
  • Taxation
  • The beauty of our coastline
  • The might and majesty of the sea

 

 

As Information Technologists we will :

 

Using graphics, text, multimedia and websites to present our  work and further our knowledge

As Scientists we will be:

 

Starting our revision of all the science we have learned in years 3, 4 and 5
