As Design Technologists we’ll be: ¨ Making models of local buildings, using a range of materials ¨
Studying
stiff and flexible sheet materials – we’ll be making books, exploring
bindings and how to make the pages come to life using a variety of techniques |

Using
scale to work out appropriate sizes for models and distances on maps -
Talking
about profit and production costs in the printing industry -
Collecting,
presenting and interrogating data |
As artists we’ll be: ¨ Creating observational artwork based on the local area ¨ Illustrating our books using a mixture of observational and narrative art, with paint, pencil, biro, ink and felt sticks |
As people concerned with our
environment and as Geographers we’ll be studying: ¨
Analysing
maps and images of the local area ¨
Exploring
sustainable paper sources including hand made papers |

Be using graphics,

As Scientists we will be: - looking at a place in the
local environment to see how life forms adapt to their surroundings and how
and why some environments need to be protected. We will need to look at food
chains and find how most start with a green plant - looking at micro-organisms which can harm our books, such as mildew, foxing, mould, damp |

is presented and how we interpret it ¨
And we’ll be
presenting all of this in our books and in the museum |
